Meet the face
behind the posts

Hi and welcome to my blog! I'm Terri Michelle. I'm a scientist by training but I've always loved words. I love words strung together to form the perfect poem, sentence, paragraph, essay, article, book...even words that form "the perfect verse over a tight beat" (get the reference?).

My happy place is the Outer Banks of North Carolina. My visits to the towns of Rodanthe or Salvo, or anywhere on Hatteras Island, have been wonderful in their simplicity. The roar of the Atlantic Ocean dominates one side of the island; this stunning body of water is governed by ocean currents that can be dangerous at times. Water on the other side of the island is quieter, calmer, slightly more predictable (but not entirely so), and still beautiful. On this side of the island, there's just enough activity that water sports enthusiasts readily congregate for kite surfing, paddleboarding, etc... This is my favorite side of the island for reflection, prayer, daydreaming, and watching the world and water go by. This side of the island is known as the"Soundside", hence the name of this blog.

"Sound" also shows up in one of my favorite Scriptures,

2 Timothy 1:7.

This blog is a response to a Spirit-led call to create - that's it. I'm using writing as the vessel today; however, maybe I'll sing or crochet or arrange flowers as my next creative act. Who knows. I'm open to the possibilities. For now, join me for this ride where I'll share personal reflections, stories, questions, and lessons learned (and learned again). I'd also love to to hear from you. So please, comment below!
